On May 20, Amazon announced that they’d be adding a new mental health benefit for all US employees, including counseling, crisis support, and some sort of app (of course). Part of that announcement included a bizarre object - the Amazon “ZenBooth”, a “Mindful Practice Room,”
I worked as a fitness trainer for several years. There were definitely times when I felt like I was just propping up an unhealthy lifestyle. Sure, I taught useful skills in weight training and educated people about how to improve or maintain their cardiovascular health. That was valuable. But I also helped them squeeze "efficient" workouts into their days instead of having more active days.
Some of the people I helped the most were those I admonished that sleep was not optional, no matter how "good" their diet.
